I worked part-time doing research project work related to applications for microcrystalline cellulose, e.g. for paper board, paper, food, biocomposites. I worked as a Project Coordinator in a collaborative project about developing barriers for paper board. This project consisted of research on incorporating biobased materials into barriers, rod coating of paper board samples as well as quality control and characterization of barrier properties such as water and grease resistance.

I worked in the Functional Cellulose research group. My main responsibility was research work on nanocellulose-based coatings and films. I also did some water vapour transmission rate measurements for packaging materials.

I worked as a part of a Nanocellulose research team. My main responsibilities were nanocellulose characterization (especially rheology measurements), and preparation of fibre foams and foam-aided drying.

I mainly updated and transferred safety data sheets into a new system. I updated statistics for the logistics department, created a reclamation registry for product quality and updated statistics related to disturbances in the distribution of products. These tasks required good Microsoft Excel skills, and my skills approved considerably during the summer. I also answered customer service emails and made freight compensations.

I operated and monitored three machines in the packaging area of the factory. I oversaw the labelling, inking, and packaging, and corrected any errors done by the machines. I made sure orders got done correctly meaning that all paint pots had the correct labels on properly and that they were in good condition to be sold.
