About Janis Bowers

My diverse career in sales, marketing and promotions started at a very young age, specifically on the 5th of July in 1985 in a little northeast Wisconsin town where I sold used fireworks. Yeah, you read that right! I had the unique ability to engage with potential customers and provide surprise and delight to the buying experience even with the most unconventional of products. Those same skills I honed on Sullivan Avenue those many years ago have provided the spark which ignited the rest of my career path.While used fireworks may have been my first product offering, I used my flair for communication to support the explosive growth of an interactive training product for a regulatory compliance company. The entrepreneurial fire in me wasn’t satisfied however so I took my experience in developing creative content, cross promotion opportunities and advertising to launch a web-based subscription service called The Dinner Spin. This online service gave subscribers access to weekly menu plans, featuring healthy recipes they could make at home for their families. At its peak, I supported almost 4,000 subscribers and based on the reviews and ratings of the recipes, I even wrote and published a cookbook Simple, Everyday Favorites. Though I have since closed that business, my entrepreneurial spirit has never stopped lighting my path forward. Today I use my skills in communication, strategy and ideation as fuel to drive sales growth for a global company that provides fiber-based materials for hundreds of product applications worldwide.
