Men went to war. They hunted mammoths, wrestled sabretooth tigers before that. They conquered kingdoms, overthrew warlords, built empires and paved the way for civilization to thrive. They desired & manifested the very finest things in life. In juxtaposition, the modern man’s self-expression might have changed but the vanity of worldly pursuits hasn’t deterred one bit. He does not set on new adventures around the wide world in search of knowledge and wisdom. Instead, he switches on his laptop and becomes an Internet Explorer. He doesn’t clock miles with his feet but prefers his fingers; on Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, and the myriad options of short-form content he can swipe up and down. I, am the very definition of this modern man (although I’d prefer to be Batman). And my purpose in life might not be partaking in gladiator matches, but to ideate campaigns, develop strategies and inculcate storytelling in everything I do (just like this LinkedIn bio). Destiny should take the blame for taking me from studying Math to pursuing an MBA to assisting governments to run their political campaigns; all in a decade. Or maybe, I did this all to myself, to make money. Lots of money. So that I can emulate a certain prince in a lawless city and fight crime during the night.
