This multi-module application was built with Maven.The Ajax based front-end was created with GWT and GXT, while additional styling and behavior specified with CSS, JavaScript and JQuery. XSL and XPATH was used for XML transformations of source data into native format. Spring MVC controllers handled GWT-RPC Ajax requests from the Web tier and invoked the services in the service layer.The service layer was driven by Spring and Spring Batch technologies, while the data layer is composed of JDBC based data access objects. Lucene and Tika was used to develop the search features, which included free-text, XML/XPATH and database search capabilities. Also, Spring Security was utilized for authentication and authorization.Additionally, to enable XML/XPATH based search capabilities Berkeley DB XML and Oracle Text features were used for standalone and server versions respectively.Unit tests and integration tests were created with JUnit and EasyMock.
