Since I was a child, I have loved nature and felt deeply concerned about problems like pollution, habitat loss and climate change. Put them together, and it was a source of inspiration for me to become an Environmental Scientist, with a dream of making a positive impact on our environment.I earned a 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, specialising in Forestry and Environmental Management. Thereafter, pursued postgraduate studies with a 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 & 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 from Deakin University gaining insights into concepts such as Environmental Management Systems, Research Impact and Management, Risk Assessment and Control, Policy and Planning for Sustainable development. Hands-on experience in key environmental GIS datasets including Regional Ecosystems, Disturbance tracking and Plan of Operations opened my eyes to the real-world challenges we face. My skillset also includes Environmental Impact Assessment, Data Analysis, and Project Management. Moreover, I am proficient in environmental monitoring techniques, ArcGIS Suites and well-versed in environmental regulations and compliance, always striving for solutions that balance ecological and human needs.My passion truly ignited when I had the opportunity to apply my knowledge in the field. Here are some of my 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:🏆 Conducted extensive field assessments and data collection activities, resulting in a 25% increase in the depth of EIA reports. 🏆 Collaborated with a multidisciplinary team including designers, subcontractors, senior executives and public entities to ensure operations are aligned with compliance and regulatory requirements 🏆 Conducted extensive soil PFAS calculations and assessments, contributing to a 7% reduction in PFAS levels within biosolids, aligning with environmental sustainability goals.
