I am an experienced industrial business leader with a passion for commercialization of new technologies. My experience includes industrial production, commodity and specialty products marketing and sales, P&L responsibility, business governance, public policy advocacy and extensive business development.During recent years, I led the development of two exciting advanced and sustainable biofuels / bioproducts to commercialization: projects that will add to the growing circular economy. These large projects include not only building and leading integrated cross-disciplinary teams, equipping them with a compelling vision and executable plan but additionally, the projects gave me the exciting opportunity to advocate at national and international level for policies and statutes that support sustainability and renewable products. I have led global commercial activities in large specialty and commodity businesses. I have leveraged times of growth, but I also managed during times of increasing competitive pressure. I've dealt effectively with commercial and operational crises. I worked first-hand on business development projects in the Middle East, China, Europe and the US. Additionally, I have served on or chaired the boards of seven joint venture companies, one of which I have lead as chief executive. My career started with nearly 10 years of solid industrial production experience on 2 continents, instilling in me a discipline in cost control, capital planning and product quality management. During that time, I managed and hired teams of engineers and scientists, often recent graduates, and I followed their early career development. These experiences have formed me. They taught me to listen before speaking, to aim to understand, to ask questions, to learn and to relate. I perform well and calmly under pressure. I focus on result but also recognize and encourage good actions regardless of outcome. I care for my team and seek to leverage their diverse skills.
