I am Jannik Neumann, an application developer at University Hospital Basel and a master's student in biotechnology at ETH Zurich. My passion is to use synthetic biology and computation to find innovative solutions to real-world problems.As part of the Swiss Transplant Cohort Study, I work with Python, Django, JavaScript, and HTML to create and maintain web applications that facilitate data collection and analysis for researchers and clinicians. I also have experience in molecular biology lab work, as I participated in the iGEM competition in 2021 with the UZurich team, which placed top 10 globally in the category "Overgraduate". Our project involved designing and testing a "plant vaccine". I also served as the vice president finance for SynBio UZH, a student organization that promoted synthetic biology education and outreach and has now turned into the StudentBiolab. During my civil service, I supported the IT team of the Swiss HIV Cohort Study and the social workers of zuwebe, a workplace for people with disabilities. These experiences taught me valuable skills in data management, communication, and teamwork.I am always eager to learn new things and challenge myself, and I look forward to applying my skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the fields of biotechnology and am thus currently part of the Talent Kick S24 cohort, while simultaneously working to found a StartUp in computational enzyme design.
