Many aspects affect the livability of a given place, like walking convenience, quality of sidewalks, safety in neighborhood, and commute accessibility. All this data is publicly available but in different formats, not suitable to draw inference of a given place. These factors cumulatively affect the market value of the place while renting and selling.A model/system is to be created which accounts for all the above mentioned factors and generates a walkability score in range 0 to 100 for a given place in the Liverpool region, UK. For creation of the model relevant data is to be collected from open data sources.Helped in the development of the project by collecting the data for nearby places within walking distance (400 m) for a given location in the Liverpool region, UK and generating a walkability score in the range 0 to 100. Determination of the transportation facilities like train, bus and taxi were considered along with other categories like shopping malls and schools. Determination of crime data in the radius of 400 meters were also considered.Searched open data sources such as Google Places API , Here REST API, Foursquare API for the collection of the data.Foursquare API was the one selected considering all the drawbacks with the other data sources. Using Foursquare API the data for all 10,512 locations in Liverpool was collected in the span of four days. Collected crime data using the Street-level crimes API that is provided by the department of Liverpool, UK.
