Currently I am a Captain at the Utah State Prison in the Division of Institutional Operations within the Utah Department of Corrections. I current serve as the Shift Commander over the grave yard staff. My responsibilities include being the point of contact for all staff that have questions or may need assistance.I started my career in 2006 as a Correctional Officer in the Division of Institutional Operations. I was posted on a housing unit maintaining security/safety, and managing offenders. I was an Offender Management Coordinator that would meet with offenders assigned to my caseload. I would help them form a plan to complete their court ordered and personal rehabilitation efforts. In October of 2010 I promoted to a Correctional Specialist with the Division of Programming. I was on a team that was responsible for the educational opportunities provided to the offenders. As a member of this team I was responsible for directing and facilitating the vocational trades, high school, and life skills educational opportunities for the female offenders incarcerated in the Timpanogos housing facility at the prison. In addition to all that I was responsible to develop and facilitate contract staff training, and offender training. I acted as a liaison between the Department of Corrections and contracted agencies personnel that worked within the prison.In November of 2012 I was promoted to housing Sergeant with the Division of Institutional Operations. I was responsible to supervise a team of Correctional Officers, and 288 offenders on a housing unit.In November of 2013 I promoted to Lieutenant within the Division of Programming. I supervised and coordinate the educational programs offered to the offenders. My responsibilities included performance management of Correctional Sergeant's, as well as managing and supervising contract staff indirectly that work at the Utah State Prison.• See below for awards and achievements.

I taught courses for the College of Criminal Justice at Eagle Gate College in Murray, Utah. My students range from young to older adults. I enjoy teaching and learning, this position was an excellent way for me to educate, and inspire learning at the same time. I only left this position because I was unable to continue due to my work schedule at the Utah State Prison.

This job was an counseling internship position while I was working towards my Master Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Argosy University. I worked with adolescents and adults struggling with addictions and other mental health impairments.

While I was employed for Loomis I drove an armored car, and was responsible to restock automatic teller machines. This was a job of high risk and great trust. I only left this job for a better opportunity working for the Stat of Utah.

I was a Customer Service Supervisor that managed cashiers, and handled customer returns and complaints. I was responsible to manage a team of cashiers by training them in sales techniques and customer services skills. I left this position for a better employment opportunity with Loomis.

I worked as a customer service representative for United Parcel Service (UPS). I was responsible to answer incoming phone calls from UPS customers. Typical phone calls were in regards to tracking packages, documenting lost/damaged packages, and documenting driver complainants/complaints. Due to my excellent customer service and communication skills, I was asked to work as a fill in supervisor. What this entailed was when the call center was short on supervisors to take escalated phone calls from customers, I would be asked to fill in and be the supervisor to handle the phone call. When this happened I would typically have to de-escalate the phone call and help the customer come to a satisfactory resolution about the situation. I only left this employer because it was a part time position and I needed full time employment.
