As child growing up on the border of southern New Mexico and Arizona in a small community of 200 made up of farming, ranching and copper mining we quickly learned the value of hard work. If you wanted money for the movies or swimming our only option was to work with our hands and backs. Parents then did not just hand out money whenever their kids wanted entertainment or something new.As a teenager my father went into the drywall business in Austin, Texas. At 13 I was working for him. By 15 I had my own crew and at 19 I was a job superintendent.Always a big fan of playing sports, football, basketball and rodeo were all great teachers of individual effort, team strength, perseverance, determination and dedication. Through these sports I fell in love with weight training and still today into my 60’s I compete in bodybuilding. Along this journey I got married and became the father of two children. Divorce presented me with how to juggle being a single parent and keeping a career going.My career path has taken many turns and twists, none of which I regret. The failures along the way have been great teachers. I have been a business owner of a restaurant, retail clothing store, an art gallery, part owner of a movie production company, an actor, a model and a spokesperson, I've been on TV and movies in very small rolls and an owner of a small construction company. The successes were celebrated and the set backs endured. But possibly the best part all my different endeavors have been the people I’ve met and the relationships that were welded together.I spent a number of years in the insurance and investments arena of which I greatly enjoyed. The knowledge gained through these professional efforts has served me well in both personal and business decision making.As a consumer credit analyst with White Jacobs & Associates I wok with both lenders and the consumer in making improvements to credit reports, educating on how to have and sustain a great credit score and be able to qualify for that next credit need, like a home mortgage loan.Through life’s maturation I now find myself much more focused on how I can have influence in others lives and less on how much personal material gain I can amass.It has been said that life is journey. I agree. Take time to stop, look around and appreciate all that life has provided you. Have humility, show gratitude and be quick to give thanks.That next great opportunity to grow and prosper awaits you.
