My career in the aviation industry began in 1994 as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME). I have had the privilege to work for some great companies maintaining both rotorcraft and fixed wing aircraft, but mainly focusing on rotorcraft. I have held positions in line maintenance, overhaul shops and management.My management functions as Director of Maintenance included: overseeing maintenance staff; ensuring clients' needs were met; working with fellow managers to meet the goals of the company; managed a fleet of thirty aircraft; and ensured the federal regulations were complied with.As a Civil Aviation Safety Inspector, I shared the responsibility with my colleagues to ensure the public are kept safe in Canadian skis by ensuring the aviation industry maintains the highest standards.In June of 2019 I was privileged to join the Transportation Safety Board of Canada to enhance transportation safety in aviation by investigating occurrences and accidents to determine cause. Then, we communicate the safety message to the industry in hopes of mitigating or even eliminating those types of accidents and occurrences. Aviation has also been a part of my recreation. I have been flying privately since 1992 and have been privileged to have my family accompany me on flights across western Canada.
