Short-term contract to provide investigation fieldwork training material. Includes Guide to Investigating Human Factors Survivability and Guide to Interviewing in Hospital.

I was Head of the Aviation Psychology and Human Factors Investigation department within the Royal Air Force Centre of Aviation Medicine, which involved working as the human factors lead in 50+ UK military investigations. Investigation input started at the crash site and resulted in analysis and recommendations for the Hazard Entry, Recovery, Escape and Survival phases of accidents. I developed, applied and published my own accident investigation and prevention methodology, which is still used as a key part of the UK military's flight safety approach. This role also included multiple front line operational investigations.

This role included aircraft test and evaluation for UK military Release to Service programmes. This included aircraft trials, prediction of human performance and formulation of associated recommendations. This role also included aircraft trials training at the Empire Test Pilot School.

Initially on Graduate Development Programme then progression to airworthiness and design departments within the Military Aircraft and Aerostructures division. I eventually transferred to MBDA where I moved across to Naval Warfare design and evaluation.
