As the VP of Partnerships and Engagement, I directed strategic communication and marketing for one of Canada’s most trusted voices on civic engagement and community impact. I led large-scale partnership activation and was responsible for the public brand, research and reporting, as well as stakeholder events and engagement for a network of 15,000+.

Led the development and execution of CivicAction and the CivicAction Leadership Foundation’s strategic communications and marketing goals to ensure alignment and maximum impact. Guided the narrative and campaigns for both organizations and directed all aspects of external communications including PR, GR, marketing, digital strategy, executive communications and stakeholder engagement.

Oversaw department priorities, budget and deliverables. Reviewed of all communications products including government advertising campaigns. Provided strategic advice to the ADM and senior management by researching and interpreting policy and developing briefing materials and speaking points.

Led project teams responsible for the ongoing identification of emerging trends and issues and preparation of issues management plans and associated products. Developed and implemented training, guidelines and systems to manage the contentious issues process. Effectively managed high profile issues such as the introduction of the Retirement Homes Act and the revitalization of Ontario Place.
