My name is Jared Rivera and I am a Texas A&M graduate with a degree Multidisciplinary Engineering Technology with a focus in Mechatronics. I graduated in 2021 with not only my degree, but also a double minor in Embedded Systems Integration and Cybersecurity. In my studies, I have gained skills in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Materials Engineering. On the coding side, I am adept in multiple languages, including C/C++, Python, and bash. I've also worked with MySQL databases and scripted in Java. On the electrical side, I have worked with circuits and a variety of sensors, including LIDAR, ultrasonic, and infrared. I'm also trained to use a variety of instruments, such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and frequency generators. In terms of mechanical engineering, I have also taken classes in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, mechanics, as well as basic metallurgy. I'm also both self-taught in Solidworks and professionally taught in Creo.My Job experience includes work at Ace Metrix, where I worked as a consultant to assist with the clearing of obsolete entries in their databases. I have also worked at Mixed Dimensions, where I was brought on as an engineering intern helping with the manufacturing process, as well as design for various required parts. Finally, I have also worked on campus at Texas A&M, where I worked as a student lab technician. There I helped to set up labs and assist the senior technicians with any projects that they were working on.In my final year in college, I was also the integrations engineer for a one year-long "capstone" final project. Our project aimed to create an autonomous robot that is capable of pulling a fully loaded shopping cart from the inside of a grocery store to curbside delivery. This is designed not only to reduce the chance of face-to-face transmission of diseases, but also to reduce the manpower required to operate a grocery store's curbside delivery system. As the integrations engineer, I worked with both the software and hardware engineers to get our system functioning, while also making sure I kept the bigger picture in mind to guide them. In short, I am a highly capable student, and am looking to find a job in which I can apply myself, and make connections. I don't wish to work on a simple project--I want to be challenged, and show how capable I can be.
