The power of computation is growing exponentially, with a huge shift from on-premises hosting to cloud hosting, opening up opportunities for investing projects with fast development, scale-able deployment, and extreme fault tolerance. As a AWS Cloud Certified Practitioner, I get to work with these systems everyday, mapping real world problems to technical solutions, and designing templates to make these solutions scale-able and fault tolerant. I enjoy delicately breaking high level business problems down, using my background in Software Engineering and Environmental Simplification at Cigna to recognize opportunities and optimize our use of resources, investing and building solutions where they are needed, and retiring or replacing outdated assets. I've had the experience of rotating and learning from mentors in different parts of the health services field from purely software engineers maintaining physical and cloud infrastructure to teams which primarily generated and reported on numbers to aid decision makers allocate funds. My team and I keep up to date on the latest trends in the health services industry as a necessity to build systems that are compatible with old infrastructure, and 'futureproof' new infrastructure to ensure these investments can provide value into the future.
