CurrentResponsible for managing curriculum coordination and lesson implementation for a variety of Coastguard Approved maritime courses. Lead classroom instruction while managing the safety and well-being of every attendee. Responsible for coordinating hands on training and administering a wide variety of assessment tools such as practical assessments and written tests to demonstrate proficiency. Maintain a high level of understanding relating to Maritime law and current regulations. Align standards and teaching practices that allow students to successfully gain understanding, complete course and acquire certification. Create new and innovative ways to adapt the lessons and curriculum to better engage individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Manage classroom environment and work alongside other instructors to facilitate a cooperative teamenvironment. Lead classes of 200-300 attendees in safely performing required jump from vessel into water whileensuring compliance and course certification in abandon ship procedures Instruct Ship’s leadership team on how to efficiently conduct, safely operate, and implement Coast Guard mandated drills onboard, while at sea Certify individuals on responding to emergency situations on their vessels, while at sea to performlifesaving tasks until advanced care can be provided Train, evaluate, and ensure abilities of each vessel’s rescue swimmers to perform duties during manoverboard situations
