As a Lead Hand at the Ranchmen’s Club I am put responsible for ensuring all day to day functions within the front of house are running to the specifications of management and supervisors. This involves ensuring all events are set and ready, all potential problems are being recognized and mitigated prior to unfolding, and leading standards to ensure the best member experience is provided.Tasks assigned include event floor plan creation, wine cellar & liquor room assistance, POS problem mitigation, ProTect trained problem mitigation, and others as requested. It is a key duty to present oneself in top standards as an example to other team members.

Front Office Receptionists/Administrators are the first line of contact for all members and guests to the Ranchmen’s Club of Calgary. The hub of communication to the club the front office receptionist ensures prompt, professional, and friendly service to all that come through the doors or reach out over the telephone. Holding to high standards of the club, all interactions will be personable and professional and foster the expected environment to members.In the role of Front Office Receptionist, one will be responsible for all incoming telephone calls and emails, coat check, package receiving, and basic doorman duties. Ensuring prompt and professional responses offering solutions; directly or via transfer to the right department. Other side duties required for the administrative side include; research reports, website maintenance, and document creation and correction.

Servers at the Ranchmen’s Club of Calgary are expected to provide high quality service befitting of a Platinum Club of the World. From the formal A.E. Cross Dining room to the casual fine dining Wolves Den, and all banqueted functions, service is to represent the history and luxury of this fine private club. In every interaction between service and members top member experience is a must. This includes immaculate grooming standards of staff, professional vocabulary, warm and welcoming demeanor, and predictive actions for members requests.

Within the role of catering captain I am in charge of a small team to ensure all catered picnics are carried out with the fineness and fun of the park. On top of overseeing the team, tasks within this role encompass constant coaching and training of new and returning team members, disciplinary action, incentive programs, team assistance to other departments in need, guest interactions and complaints, and planning of days for each event going on. Keeping a professional but friendly and fun air in all portions of the day is key.

As a Caterer at Calaway Park we are expected to be giving exceptional WOW guest services to every person through our gates. This position requires a plethora of skills from being able to do heavy lifting of picnic tables, proper barbecuing of burgers and hot dogs, topping prep of items such as tomato, lettuce, and cheese. Long hours of exposure to direct sunlight is a hazard that each and every staff member is required to have the skills to avoid injury. Particular grooming standards are highly important as the image of every staff member is part of the image of the company.

As the lead ambassador I oversee the promotion of the GCSC on the SAIT campus. Using marketing and sales skills my team and I aim for success on total goals for signups for the competition. Through constant coaching from my superiors and my coaching to others in my team we come up with new and creative methods to sell and market the competition.

As a Health and Safety Representative one is required to provide assistance to the management on up-holding standards of H&S and keeping track on any potential hazards in a work area. Report filing of injury reports as well as updated JSA (Job Safety Assessments) in which each staff member in the work area is signing off on. This role was very paperwork based, as well as it heavily involves the training of new and current staff in the health and safety standards that have either changed or lacked.

Team lead duties and responsibilities range from leading event staff and delivery deadlines, to communicating with the event contacts as well as the kitchen to ensure all is according to the BEO. As a team lead constant coaching of the team was key to ensure that any hiccup or mistake made was able to be solved and any praise given in exceptional service. A link of communication between Management and the front lines. Training of new and current staff is a key role involved in team lead and the success of the company.
