I am an experienced licensed nursing home administrator with a lot of experience in nursing homes as well as a lifetime exposure to the nursing home industry. Some of my skills include quality assurance, customer service, risk management, human resources functions and management, financial stewardship, quality measures, strong marketing and census growth, policy and procedure review, day-to-day operations, medical terminology, infection control, survey process and preparation, physical environment (life safety), and critical thinking that leads to decision-making. I express my leadership in a variety of ways, but most importantly, by development and communication.I currently am in the state of Florida, expanding and developing my skills as an NHA. My overall goal is to become successful as anyone can be, whether that does take me up the latter or not. My experience deliverance include growth in census in my previous facilities. Marketing comes a long way in census growth, especially when I was able to obtain great relationships with hospitals, ALFs, etc. Communication is a critical piece in that growth, as well as my employees. Employees play a huge piece in my role as they are the ones who I am responsible in ensuring they have everything they need to succeed in their role(s). Most importantly, employee appreciation. If there's anything I've learned, its being out in the hallways often, helping my staff with their duties along with showing them how much I appreciate their hard work. Recognizing them to the public really show that they are beyond happy to work in a positive environment. The financial stewardship is definitely a huge strength of mine. Reviewing and going over budgets, labor, and forecast on a bi-weekly or monthly basis, is a great way for me to see what I am trending into, and what are opportunities I can challenge myself into turning around to achievable results.As a leader, it is my responsibility to ensure I deliver positive results in all areas. This can include survey. It's very important for me to see the picture on a daily basis to determine facility-wide compliance based on Federal, State, and local regulations. I take the survey prep piece very seriously, especially quality assurance. Quality assurance and regulatory affairs are an absolute passion of mine for many reasons, but most of all: to ensure I get a deficiency-free survey and become a five-star facility. My current goal is to continue learning and developing myself and others, on what it means to become successful, as well as making my team successful in their roles.
