Principal Regulatory Engineer
CurrentTake the engineering lead to ensure that digital voting equipment (ITE) is in compliance to stringent hardware and software compliance standards defined by the EAC, and to guide it throughout the entire certification process.Coordinate, compile, and streamline technical documentation dossiers required for certification. Work with cross functional teams to ensure all documentation, including product manuals, meet numerous certification requirements.Design for, test for, and coordinate EMC, safety, and MIL-STD-810 compliance testing, for product requirements that surpass typical ITE limits (e.g. IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 limits for ESD, FCC Class B with additional margin).Track all certified equipment engineering changer and justify those changes to the certification body.Primary internal driver to design for compliance as part of the NPD/NPI with a phase-gate (tollgate) process, from schematic and PCB layout review, to testing, mitigation, validation, certification, and release.Active industry advocate to standards bodies, regulatory agencies, and working groups.
