As the Assistant Director of Health Policy Strategy at the Center for Advancing Health Policy through Research (CAHPR) at Brown University's School of Public Health, my career has been deeply rooted in health care policy. Since 2017, I have been actively involved in this field in Washington, D.C., contributing to various organizations, including the RAND Corporation, Alliance for Health Policy, and the National Association for Community Health Centers (NACHC). My expertise centers on a range of crucial health care issues. I have collaborated with Congress, as well as federal and state governments, to address matters including health care costs, price transparency, health care consolidation, Medicare and Medicare Advantage, and the intricacies of mental health and substance use disorders. Furthermore, my work extends to the evolving realms of telehealth and other innovative health care solutions.Before my tenure in D.C., I worked in the office of former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Reno, NV, from 2014 to 2016. Here, I focused on various sectors such as health care, social security, and rural county issues. My passion consistently lies in tackling challenges related to health care pricing, transparency, mental health, substance use disorders, and rural health care.Parallel to my professional career, I have a fervent interest in baseball. I delve into the human aspect of the sport, coaching, and writing about it. My work includes interviewing current and former minor and major league players, offering a unique, behind-the-scenes perspective on the individuals beyond their statistical achievements. My stories shed light on players' living conditions, mental health struggles, the role of mental performance coaches, the treatment of minor leaguers, and the complexities of career transitions in the sport.
