This included offices in six different locations around the country and 150 office employees, for seven different divisions. I oversaw operations for the over-the road fleet for the random freight and the power-only division, utilizing independent contractors. I maintained a fleet of over 450 company tractors and 350 owner operators.

The promotion to A.V.P. tasked me with starting another new division for the company. I was responsible for creating processes and auditing key performance indicators of a division that is a hybrid between contracted owner operators and a broker carrier. This division grew to over 350 contracted tractors while maintaining targeted operating ratios.

Fayetteville, Arkansas Area

The company wanted to diversify our service offerings so I was tasked with starting an expedited division to offer random, one-way, and dedicated just-in-time service. Beginning with one driver manager and 20 teams, this division grew to over 250 team trucks, 100 solo trucks,and an office staff of 18. The division operated as low as the mid 80’s for an.

With the promotion to Director, my duties were expanded to include auditing P & L’s and potential new business bids.

I was responsible for the customer service and operations of the company’s largest customer, General Motors. We maintained an on-time-delivery percentage above 98.5% while providing just-in-time service. This division grew to a total direct staff of 19 personnel between three different offices with 650 drivers.

I managed all night and weekend operations which included multiple duties across several departments. Along with scheduling, I oversaw the Safety, Fuel, Casualty Claims, and Payroll departments. All 23 staff members were cross-trained and capable of handling multiple job functions.
