As an associate working the front of house at the Westin Governor Morris, I was the image of the hotel to the guests. When a guests walked in the front door, I was the first person to greet them. When a guest came downstairs with a problem, I was there to listen. When a guest was in the lobby waiting for the rest of their party, I was there to talk to them. During the month of August 2015 I was nominated employee of the month for "refreshing" the guests' experience.

I inspired the future of a dilapidated chemical engineering organization by creating opportunities for students, businesses, and the surrounding community to engage in science. Students gained marketable officer positions by planning events, collaborating with outside resources, and taking responsibility for their events results. Businesses gained access to fund research, sponsor events, give scholarships, and handpick job candidates from an elite talent pool of chemical engineering students.Through my leadership the organization grew from 4 members to 45 members.The organization sponsored 8 major outreach events on campus a year.3 students won prizes for their research at the national conference.$15,000 in corporate donations were secured.

I was responsible for owning the synergy controller LAN Server project, a way to control multiple test units from the comfort of your desk.The infrastructure for the server was already build prior to my start at Tidal Engineering. My task was to learn how to code using python, then write code to connect multiple controllers to the server. After this task was complete, I created a series of instructional videos to explain how the feature worked.

I was responsible for coating neural probes with an ultra-fast degrading polymer blend to achieve implementation into the upper cortex without causing gliosis, tissue scarring. I started by working with my adviser and creating a polymer blend with the ideal characteristics. This was achieved by synthesis of the polymer in a clean room under anaerobic conditions. Then the polymer was injected into a 3d-printed mold where the neural probes were encapsulated until validation testing.

Characterization of different electronic appliance polymer blends for a new government recycling program through the use of different forms of IR spectroscopy. Learned about the different types of spectroscopy and science behind each. The spectrometers used during data acquisition were FTIR, NIR, and Raman.
