Developed sport and play programs in Fort Providence, Northwest Territories. The purpose of my position was to build partnerships with community stakeholders to understand if a service-learning course would be beneficial for Fort Providence and the University of Alberta students.

Lived in a northern Ontario fly-in community working with the local community mentor, with the overall goal of designing and running leadership and recreation programs. As a team, we also implemented monitoring and evaluation tools, coordinated budgets, and ran capacity building workshops for other staff involved in the play programs.

Edmonton, Canada Area

Designed and implemented play and sport programs for children, while leading a team of instructors to ensure quality programs. Also taught numerous programs to children and youth (e.g., hockey, basketball, soccer, tennis, badminton, track and field, active games, and movement and dance).

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Organized projects at select orphanages and schools in Cambodia for children with disabilities or in lower socio-economic communities. My role also was to build a positive team atmosphere and to ensure the team had the capacity to run sport and play programs.
