Was exposed to a part of the mining industry, namely the smelter plant of Tronox (Namakwa Sands) at which heavy minerals are processed to produce titanium dioxide slag (chloride and sulphate grades) and pig iron. Worked in Projects office with experts from various disciplines such as Senior Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Draughtsman and Electrical Engineers. Assessed cause of noise created by existing exhaust silencer and suggested and designed potential solutions.
