I am accountable for managing and developing the Worldwide Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Expense Analysis functions for Latham & Watkins while leading a team of finance professionals. I am also responsible for full P&L and Capital Expense planning and forecasting, as well as deployment of performance management tools. This role requires working closely with the Director of Accounting, CFO, and other C-Suite level executives. I started in this role during a transitional period for the firm as we were getting ready for a complete overhaul of the chart of accounts as a result of the migration to a new ERP system. Successes include developing the new standard management reporting package ahead of schedule, deploying the new financial planning system, and streamlining and standardizing the global variance analysis process.

I was responsible for providing project management support for engagement pricing and execution, including project scope and goal definition, profitability, and resource allocation. In addition, I prepared strategic analyses for rate and revenue management initiatives aimed at understanding global pricing landscapes and developing successful strategies and tactics for rate implementation.

I was responsible for the overall Business Planning cycle for the largest Pepsi bottler in Mexico. I led a team of four direct reports and eight indirect reports throughout the country’s different market zones. I worked closely with the CEO, COO, CFO as well as with stakeholders from different functional teams across the organization. I was promoted to this position during a time of unprecedented market turbulence primarily driven by currency volatility.In this role, I was able to lead a cross-functional team that developed contingency planning activities to manage FX and business risk. The implementation of these activities allowed the company to achieve 105% of the operating profit targets within a year.

I developed and implemented new planning and reporting tools and reports as part of a comprehensive approach to performance management. As part of this effort, I was tasked with developing a new set of standardized monthly reports. This required close collaboration with the internal stakeholders to achieve a high degree of visibility, while streamlining the identification of focus areas. Developing these reports allowed the company to over-deliver cost reduction targets by $5 million USD.

I supported strategic initiatives for Pepsi’s largest bottler in Mexico providing macro-economic and trend analyses for senior management. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Planning I prepared a full valuation model for a multi-year restructuring initiative for Mexico’s operations worth over $50 million USD. This valuation was instrumental in gaining approval for this initiative by the global HQ in New York.
