Key responsibilities: - Promote and encourage the participation of all members in sports activities including tennis, squash, billiards, croquet, table tennis, swim and fitness programs - Active member of the Strategic Planning Committee, Captain’s Committee, Junior Committee & Coaches Committee - Develop annual activities strategies and the strategic direction for the Club - Organise, advertise, coordinate and run all major sporting events for the year - Identify the home grown club members suitable for populating competitive tennis and squash teams in order that a succession plan can be developed for identifying suitable scholarship candidates - Lead grading of players for tennis & squash - Manage the scholarship program including identification of new scholars and review of existing scholars - Mentor new members - Oversee the operation of the junior training days and school holiday programs. Work with the contracted tennis coaches to develop new programs - Ensure member compliance with the rules and by-laws of the Club, including dress code - Liaise with ground staff regarding maintenance of courts and sporting facilities - Manage the fitness and swimming activities and classes including scheduling classes, appointing instructors/trainers and monitoring their performance - Ensure the gym, swimming pool and fitness equipment are properly serviced and functioning - Liaise with, and support the various regular tennis and sporting groups - Manage and direct the Club tennis championships, table tennis & billiards tournaments - Work with the administration department to ensure the membership data being collated is relevant for administering sporting functions - Ensure the Club website & social media is relevant as the hub of member communication for sporting activities - Meet with Tennis Aus and Tennis Vic regularly for updates on tennis activities at national/state level
