About Jarrah Steen

Jarrah has been in senior leadership roles across Not For Profit, Community Service and Social Enterprise organisations since 2006 and was named the Queensland Young Manager of the Year 2010 in the AIM Management Excellence Awards. Within these roles she has been required to work with stakeholders across government, private and non-government sectors in the areas of community, health, mental health, women, early years, child safety, youth, education, training, innovation, multicultural, indigenous and economic development. Jarrah is passionate about establishing communities where everyone has a chance to thrive, whether that be through creating economic opportunities, empowering women to lead, or improving social and health outcomes. As such Jarrah has supported the progression of $6 million in projects since 2016 through her grant writing skills and also lead the development and delivery of the Inspiring an Active Mackay (I AM) program, which went on to win the Queensland Government's Start Playing Stay Playing 2018 Award for "Inclusion" and the overall "Minister's Award for Excellence".
