Specializing in monopole reinforcements, design modifications for failing towers in accordance with the local jurisdictional code including TIA/EIA, AISC, ACI, AWS among others. Reinforcements typically range from monopole shaft reinforcement, elevated flange reinforcements, elevated flange jumps both welded and bolted configurations, base plate and anchor rod modifications and additions, micro-piles, rock anchors and other more typical foundation modifications. Work with the client to review failing analyses and provide quotes for reinforcement design. Complete reinforcement design from beginning to end, including analysis review, modification design, and design drawings. Coordinate with clients and general contractors to design and construct reinforcements in a cost effective and efficient manor given the existing conditions found in the field. Review pre-construction documents including fabrication drawings and special inspections forms, depending on jurisdictional requirements. Review and sign post-modification inspection reports to ensure the design was constructed properly to the design and code specifications.

Conducted structural analyses of towers, platforms, rooftops and various other structures and their foundations that support the telecommunications industry. Performed the analysis work in accordance the Telecommunications Industry Association/Electronic Industries Association (TIA/EIA) Standard as well as applicable state building codes and other enforced design standards. Also analyzed atypical structures and foundations in computer aided design programs using stiffness models designed for load sharing. Reviewed new build design calculations to ensure the analysis has been performed correctly and that the tower and would withstand proposed loading scenarios. Designed modifications for towers that were not in conformance considering multiple factors including construct-ability, fit up, and economical factors depending on the client’s needs and requests. Modifications and designs that were encountered ranged from simple connection modifications, member replacement, monopole plate reinforcement, base plate reinforcement and anchoring, weld reinforcement, base foundation modifications and guy anchor foundation designs.

As a crew leader in the inspections division of TEP, I coordinated with severalcontractors and members of my group to perform a variety of field services on existing telecommunication structures across the United States. Services performed include inspection of broadcast towers, monopole towers, self‐supporting towers, water tanks, roof top structures, equipment shelters and tower foundations. Typical tasks included structural steel inspection and mappings, antenna and feed line mappings, mount mappings, pre-modification and post-modification inspection, destructive and non-destructive foundation inspections, and ground audits. The purpose was to detail existing telecommunications structures and provide a report with the adequate information to preform a structural analysis determining whether the tower has adequate capacity for both existing and future loading. Crew lead tasks also included management of small projects, organization of crew members and responsibilities, coordination with clients and contractors for access and specific requests. Crew leaders are also responsible for training new employees on‐site safety and procedures.
