Also leading brainstorms, developing creative concepts and ultimately pitching them to our clients. As Lead Writer, I now also get to partner with a variety of talented creatives and producers to see the production of our animated and live action videos through from start to finish.

Helped plan, pitch and track "Paintervention," a month-long Facebook photo contest for KILZ Primer and Paint that generated +6,000 new fans, increased page engagement by over 1,000% and resulted in +40,000 unique page views. Assisted with new business research by conducting social listening/monitoring/analysis using Radian6 and Sysomos. As a resource for clients, curated a monthly newsbrief on industry news and social media trends. Currently crafting copy for Vitamix's paid social program, posts that have seen a Twitter engagement rate 167% higher than the industry benchmark.

Worked as a PR swiss army knife for integrated marketing and communications agency Cramer-Krasselt's public relations department. Media outreach, content writing, research, and social listening/monitoring/analysis for B2B and consumer-facing brands including Cedar Fair Entertainment, Experian, Tork, and Hilton. Coordinated blogger program that helped raise sales of Tork Home products 36% and increased website traffic. Helped manage social accounts for KILZ Primer and Paint to engage with DIY and PRO painters.

Intern for Cramer-Krasselt's versatile PR team. Time well spent writing, editing, conducting media outreach, providing office support, and pitching for B2B and consumer clients.

Duties included monitoring, tracking, and analyzing media coverage for consumer accounts including Motorola, Milk, and Sharpie. Also researched relevant outlets and publications for potential coverage for clients. Worked on Motorola’s “Responsibility on the Road’’ campaign, which helped double online sales of Motorola hands-free devices.

Pitched and wrote quick-hit news stories for The Onion's entertainment website The A.V. Club, as well as contributed to in-depth previews of Chicago cultural events including Lollapalooza and the Pitchfork Music Festival. Also helped to maintain the A.V. Club's web database by compiling event listings and updating venue and artist information.

Wrote and edited content for the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine’s various internal and external publications and Internet sites, including news website Medical Education Update and the quarterly alumni magazine Medicine. Articles primarily consisted of profiles on the University of Iowa medical community and news updates.

Covered Iowa City's art scene for an award-winning, student-run newspaper with a circulation of 20,500. Wrote previews of upcoming events and reviewed film, books and movies. Pitched stories, conducted research and interviews, wrote 1-3 feature stories a week, filmed video content. Helped bring the section's quirky voice to different mediums by hosting a weekly Daily Iowan radio show and blogging for the art section's blog.
