About Jarrold Esteves
Hi! I'm a first year Master of Urban and Regional Planning student at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs with a concentration in Transportation Planning and Policy. I recently graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Political Science and a minor in City and Regional Planning. Currently, I am a Student Assistant at Caltrans District 7 in the Regional Planning division. My passions for urban planning and public service has endlessly motivated me to pursue opportunities that aim to improve the lives of the communities I serve. My time and experience with the City and County of San Francisco Fellows Program, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) and the Alameda County Department of Environmental Health (ACDEH) in the Solid/Medical Waste Division and Hazardous Materials Division have shown me how we can utilize our public and private partnerships to ensure we attain compliance with health and safety standards for the county and region. With the opportunity I’ve had to work in public sector transportation with a social and racial equity oriented perspective, I hope to continue my pursuit of researching and improving transportation planning in California. I take every opportunity I have to connect with passionate and ambitious individuals who are currently involved or interested in public service. I hope to build connections and coalitions, working towards solutions today for a brighter future tomorrow, together.
