I focus on enabling software developers and financial professionals to develop smart contracts and software applications on Cardano.

I collaborate (pro-bono) as guest lecturer on the Data Science course that is part of the BSc on Computer Engineering's curricula. This course is aimed to offer an introduction to the main techniques that can be used by a data scientist to solve business problems. The course also includes an introduction to R programming.

* Directing thesis at the Executive Master on IT Management where collaborating with students (mainly IT or Business Managers) the goal is to work on a thesis that could solve a business problem on their organizations.* Teaching business process modeling, data analysis, business intelligence, and innovation.

I work on the instructional design and development of learning content for the FinTech Bootcamp program offered by Trilogy Education Services, a 2U, Inc. brand, in partnership with the world's leading universities to help companies bridge the digital skills gap. This is a six-month program that covers various technologies such as Python, Pandas, data viz, SQL, time-series analysis, machine learning (classification, NLP, deep learning), cloud services (Amazon Lex, AWS Lambda, Amazon SageMaker), and Blockchain (General Cryptography, Ethereum, Solidity). I lead the development of the machine learning and cloud computing services section and collaborate on expanding the program to international markets.

I enjoyed sharing my data science experience at the Data Analytics Bootcamp offered by Trilogy Education Services in Mexico City. This was a fantastic experience where I had a chance to impact students' lives during a 24 weeks Bootcamp. Students learned about advanced Microsoft Excel analytics, Python, Pandas, data visualization, R, version control, SQL, JavaScript, SQL, Big Data, and Machine Learning.This program is offered in collaboration with Tecnologico de Monterrey as an academic partner.

I worked as an instructor in the inaugural cohort of the Data Analytics Bootcamp offered by Trilogy Education Services in Mexico City. I worked on delivering data science solutions to help our customers to increase competitivity by taking better decisions based on data. I mainly worked on supervised machine learning (ML) problems from defining the core problem with a customer, identifying the best data to find and answer using ML, and finally finding the best model to deploy and start making predictions. My experience expands across banking, telecom, customer service, digital marketing, and retail.

I led a team of software engineers and UX/UI designers who develops the technology that supports digital marketing strategies for some Fortune 500 companies and lead brands in Mexico. I was on charge of the innovation initiatives of the company that were focused on finding creative ways to use data analytics, machine learning and cutting-edge technologies to enhance all the marketing services; as well as improving the company’s operations introducing Kanban and agile practices.

Expert consultant on data analytics and data science aimed to improve customers’ decision making and to support business goals achievement trough an intelligent and efficient use of their data. I was on charge of customer engagement and the definition of the technical and business specifications that are needed to create the data analytics solutions that best fit with our customers’ needs and expectations. I also worked on defining and prototyping models that create mathematical, statistical, and computational solutions for our customers’ data analysis needs.

* Leading the definition, prioritization, and deployment of projects on data science, data analysis, and business intelligence to help customers (Government agencies and private organizations) to transform their data into actionable knowledge and profit.* Expert consultant on process improvement (ITIL, CMMI, Six Sigma), knowledge management, and agile software development (Kanban, SCRUM).* Co-director of the Data Engineering specialization of the Master on Software Engineering where the focus is to provide the technical and practical skills to analyze the big data that is the key to success in future business; we have a special interest on developing software using functional programming with Elixir, ELM, Python, and Haskell.* Teaching domain driven design, distributed systems, data analysis, statistical programming, and agile software development.

* Designed and implemented a knowledge management strategy to identify the intangible assets of a Spanish IT consulting firm (10K employees, 10 countries) and how those assets were aligned to the business goals. This project was used by the IT consulting company as one of its key differentiators during an acquisition operation by a Japanese company in 2013 (around 559 M €).* Collaborated as technical leader and project manager on several R&D projects founded by the Spanish Government and the European Union (leading teams up-to ten people). These projects where mainly oriented to help customers (Government Agencies or private organizations) to adopt standards, improve projects' management, and make better decisions based on data analysis solutions.* Taught courses on process improvement (ITIL, CMMI), collaborative software (Microsoft SharePoint), software development methodologies (RUP, Extreme Programming, PSP), software design (UML), and statistical programming (using R and Microsoft Excel).* Responsible of the virtual campus from the Software Engineering Lab that was used to provide training courses to students and professionals.

Resident Affiliate position to collaborate with the SEI's Software Engineering Process Management Program.As Resident Affiliate I collaborated with the SEI's Software Engineering Process Management Program. I was involved in the following projects: development of a software prototype for the Measurement and Analysis Infrastructure Diagnostic (MAID) Method using Microsoft technologies, development of a knowledge management solution for the project “Identifying Acquisition Patterns of Failure Using System Archetypes”; two versions were made, one using Mindtouch and other using Microsoft SharePoint, Program Committee on the SEPG Europe Conference that was held on Madrid in 2012.

This experience was part of Jose Arturo's activities as PhD candidate, who had the honour to be invited by Dr. Angel Jordan, Provost Emeritus at Carnegie Mellon University and Founder of the Software Engineering Institute.During three months he had the opportunity to collaborate and share experiences with researchers and Professors from the SEI as well as from the Tepper Business School at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and the School of Computer Science at CMU.

This experience was part of Jose Arturo's activities as PhD candidate. During three weeks he had the opportunity to collaborate and share experiences with researchers specially from the software and process quality realm in order to gather ideas to his research about six sigma applications on software engineering.

* Worked as Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department.* Promoted the use of e-learning and software collaboration tools to improve students learning experience.* Responsible Academic Officer of the Computer Science curricula.* Led and collaborated on research, academic and business projects.* Taught courses on web development (ASP, ASP.Net), programming (C#, Java), artificial intelligence, software engineering methodologies, and data bases administration (Microsoft SQL Server).

* Software architecture design of an institutional intranet (deployed on Microsoft SharePoint) to improve internal customers' satisfaction (faculty, administrative staff, students, and parents) by offering all the administrative procedures on-line. Customer satisfaction was increased by 70%.* Responsible for the virtual campus of the University (deployed with Blackboard LMS). Led the training courses for students, teachers, and administrative staff on the use of the virtual campus and some software collaboration tools (Microsoft SharePoint, instant messengers, video conference software)* Web applications programming using Microsoft technologies (ASP, ASP.Net).* Mail and web servers maintenance (Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Internet Information Services).

I was co-founder of this software development company to attend the increasing demand of web applications development in Mexico. I was responsible of customer engagement for defining product requirements and create architectural specifications; I was also involved in software quality assurance prior to product delivery.
