Fleet Maintenance Submarine Combat Systems Norfolk, Virginia

Directed 13-member staff in the completion of over 200 maintenance actions in support of seven deploying Atlantic Fleet submarines. Led and managed ten-member staff daily in fibreglass repair to submarine antennas, masts, coamings, fairings, and ice caps, with repair budget of over $750,000 annually.  Completed over 120 maintenance actions of mission-critical repairs to Type-18 periscope fairing and closure caps, two AN/BRA-24 antennas, two OE-538 antennas, three snorkel mast coaming gaskets, and one BPS-15 radar mast gasket.  Ensured proper security and utilization of Top Secret Security Clearance property and equipment essential to daily operations and national security. Planned, developed, and implemented over $2,000,000 in maintenance and refurbishment projects in support of Global War on Terrorism (GWOT). Produced over $150,000 cost savings in leading ten-member team in successful completion of 50 highly specialized and demanding plexiglas and plastisol repairs and maintenance. Mentored over 100 departmental and 14 divisional personnel in career goals and personal development, completing over 100 Career Development Boards (CDB), ensuring 100% retention rate of Rubber and Plastics Division.

Led team of six in supervision of Kabul International Airport Post Office of over 74,800 pounds of incoming and outgoing mail each month. Logistically coordinated flight plans and tracked mission-critical packages and supplies to save lives on and off battlefield. Deployed to the Middle East for GWOT.Led ten personnel in maintenance and operation of six cargo/weapons elevators, two aircraft elevators, ten deballast air compressors, one medical elevator, and oily waste separators/transfer systems. Facilitated Assault Division overall score of 99% in 3M assessment; assisted Engineering Department in achieving overall score of 97% and in command overall score of “outstanding.” Executed and oversaw 1,000 hours of flawless landing craft air cushion, landing craft unit, aircraft, and deballast /ballast operations in support of Joint Task Force Lebanon, 2006. Performed troubleshooting and repairs ensured 100% operations of weapons cargo elevators allowing the ship to convey all cargo ammunition in a timely manner in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

Large Amphibious Assault Force Ship that carries and operates aircraft, amphibious equipment, and US Marines. Executed repair and maintenance of 21 darken ship switches, 60-ton crane stow limit switch, 28 switchboards, and flight deck and well deck lighting in support of OEF. Performed vital repairs to Electrical Power Control Panel units outside of normal working hours to maintain command mission readiness standards and devoted off-duty time to training fellow engineers. Trained and qualified five personnel in anchor windlass, after steering, and Electrical Plant Control Panel operation.  Spearheaded identification and correction of over 750 ship-wide discrepancies in preparation of Inspection and Survey inspections, assisting in overall score of “outstanding.”
