I'm an alumna of the illustrious Alabama A&M University, and I majored in Business administration with a concentration in Management information systems. I want to continue my career journey in Human Resources. I gained experience working in Human Resources through an internship, and it was there that I gained proper communication skills, interpersonal skills, and networking skills. I worked closely with the director of Diversity, Equity, and inclusion, the manager of the HRIS department, and the Vice President of Human Resources. I created a Zoom etiquette guideline for the employees to adhere to, which was approved by upper-level management. I led spot interviews and collected data for all interns to understand their experience. Also, I redesigned their student loan repayment system. I landed my first job after college with Caterpillar INC as an HR specialist for Learning and Development in their Global Information Services. I was a licensed admin for their technical learning platforms, Udmey and Plursight. I directed their speaker series, “Tech Talk Tuesday,” and saw a spike of 100+ new attendees every session. I troubleshooted and maintained their learning platforms, and I even assigned workday training.
