Responsible for all development communications. Under the direction of the CFR Manager, I assist in drafting letters of intent, funding proposals and grant reports and will also consult with program and senior staff members to obtain necessary information to drive AFTD’s corporate and foundation giving. I author fundraising appeals, donor correspondence, and custom acknowledgement letters. Additionally, I develop and maintain responsibility for formal writing targeting AFTD major donors and planned giving prospects, as well as all other fundraising and development material, including mail and electronic appeals. I also author all thank you letter templates, refining and expanding templates on an ongoing basis to ensure consistent communication with all AFTD donors.

Meet with high school students to consult on and edit various college admissions essays. I aid the students throughout their editing process, as well as assist the administrative team with data collection and contacting college admissions offices.

Facilitated weekly workshops on special topics each semester.

I taught all levels of English in an alternative school; worked with students 15-21.

Provided a one-to-one teaching experience in the areas of English Composition, Literature, Language Arts, World and U.S. History, Government, and Economics at grade levels 6-12.

I assisted the family with the after school pickup and care of three children.

Worked with a Title I school to support the development of their arts and support the English and History Department with creative writing workshops.

I interned at Mighty Writers for the summer where I ran a Spoken Word/Poetry workshop for young teens, helped with daily operations and worked as a mentor, helping students to improve their writing and set goals.
