Jasmine Simms is an energetic, confident, and personable entrepreneur, entrepreneurship educator and small business consultant; the type of person on whom your faculty, mentor networks, and serviced market will come to rely. She has a wide breadth of experience as an entrepreneur, instructor, program & curriculum developer, and business advisor to entrepreneurs across many industries. As a raised Baltimorean, she co-founded National Association of Mom Entrepreneurs (NAME formerly Moms As Entrepreneurs ) a non-profit which launched in the Penn-North community, whose mission is to remove the stigma that Black moms are unwilling to risk or assume the pressures of being a mom and an entrepreneur, by challenging the inequities placed upon them through education and access to funding. Through her work with NAME, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan State University, many began as aspiring entrepreneurs or sole proprietors and have been able scale to create jobs, generate revenue and leave their full-time careers to support their livelihoods through full-time entrepreneurship. In 2021, a proposal on behalf of NAME was selected to present at the Global Consortium for Entrepreneurship Center Conference where she addressed the inequities by identifying the effects that barriers such as structural racism, underserved, and redlined communities had on the success of Black-owned businesses and the solutions that could lead Black woman led household to generational wealth and delivering the blueprint of how other entrepreneurship centers can scale our models to other cities. After Simms’ first year in business, she has been awarded the title of Best Nail Salon and Best Nail Care consecutively by the Best of Baltimore by ​Baltimore Magazine​, Best Manicure by ​CBS Baltimore, ​Best Nail Salon​ by The Baltimore Sun for 2018 ​and featured in ​Style Magazine, Morning Joe on MSNBC, HuffPost, WBAL Radio, NPR, Baltimore Magazine, The Baltimore Sun, The b Daily Paper, my24 Bmore Lifestyle, Technically, the Baltimore Times​, and ​Fox News Baltimore​ and prides itself on maintaining 4.8/5 on Yelp, Google, and Facebook in positive customer experiences.
