I am a graduate of the University of Arizona in the College for Family Studies and Human Development with a minor in psychology. My interest in working with adolescents began when I started volunteering at the suicide hotline. While listening to callers speak about their struggles, I wanted to take action in being able to guide them through dealing with difficult life challenges. I am very passionate and drawn to working with children and families who are seeking guidance for challenges they may grow through together. I love volunteering with children and being able to grow my patience working with children who need special needs and attention. After graduation in May of 2023, I plan to attend graduate school and pursue a master’s degree in early childhood mental health to become a counselor for adolescents. I am interested in becoming more involved with working next to children who need special attention through internships, volunteer experience, job shadowing, and research. By being involved in those experiences I hope to build professional development.
