Legal Assistant
Current- Provide daily administrative support to in-house attorneys, including scheduling appointments, answering and screening phone calls, making travel arrangements, preparing expense reports, and managing incoming and outgoing mail.- Handle document-related tasks such as photocopying, filing, scanning, and saving documents to the legal drive.- Responsible for maintaining the organization of the Legal Department Google Drive, ensuring that all case files and court documents are properly filed and accessible.- Manage and maintain the company’s contracts database, draft and update spreadsheets, monitor contract renewal notifications, and coordinate with various departments to track contract statuses.- Handle garnishment orders, respond to subpoenas, and manage intellectual property filings.- Assist with litigation management, including communicating with outside counsel and real estate agents, and electronically filing court documents with the California Superior Court.- Manage the Legal Report, organizing and tracking active litigation and pre-litigation matters.- Maintain corporate records, manage corporate filings for various business entities, and handle the company’s insurance renewals and applications.- Work closely with the insurance broker to understand and address insurance coverage issues.- Review and interpret contractual agreements, ensuring you have a basic understanding of contract terminology and provisions to support the legal team effectively.- Work closely with employees at all levels within the organization, including the executive team, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of legal matters.- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to a rapidly changing work environment, managing projects with speed and efficiency even under tight deadlines.- Ability to handle complex assignments with considerable judgment and initiative.- Maintain the confidentiality of staff and sensitive case matters in accordance with EEO guidelines.
