About Jasmine Wu

I call myself an aspiring marketer who is always looking for unique and diverse stories centered in community. Unique stories, experiences and conversations are all around us and sometimes all it takes is someone to amplify or add in some color. That’s me, or at least, who I hope to be. Whether it’s through marketing, content creation, social media, etc, I hope to spend my day being creative and telling stories.Allow me to share a little bit about myself. There’s an old Chinese proverb, “Like a chicken, talking to a duck", or 鸡同鸭讲, that my Taiwanese immigrant parents would declare, usually when they’ve hit a communication wall. This phrase appeared in conversations between myself and my parents, or in disagreements with my sister, or even in observation of others talking (i.e. the household television tuned into local news 24/7). Although, it’s usually applied to miscommunications or perhaps two stubborn talking heads refusing to listen to each other, I’d like to offer a different perspective. Growing up in a bilingual family, words can get lost in translation. All it takes is a translator who can color in these words with their meaning and intention. If you've made it this far, please consider exploring my portfolio of work: http://tiny.cc/jasmineportfolio
