About Jasmine Brandon

As a secondary English teacher at Environmental Charter School, I provide culturally relevant and responsive instruction to over 220 students across four different courses, while meeting the standards and the needs of diverse learners. I collaborate with inclusion teachers and caseload managers to identify and implement necessary supports for students with IEPs and students who need more scaffolding, and I use data collection and analysis to evaluate student performance and create best practices for staff.Prior to joining ECS, I worked as a secondary English teacher at Centinela Valley Union School District and LAUSD, where I developed innovative and critical curriculum for 12th grade Expository Composition and 11th grade American Literature, and maintained a supportive and collaborative learning environment for my students. I also completed my student teaching at Susan Miller Dorsey High School, where I gained valuable experience in teaching, research, and facilitation skills. I hold a master's degree in education from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and a bachelor's degree in education studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison).
