As a member of the executive team, my role is to develop and execute Human Resources Strategies and ensure continued alignment with the Company’s business strategy for Edgewater Casino and soon to be parq Vancouver. I have a key role in aiding the General Manager in ensuring that the Company has the organizational processes, skills and competencies in place to deliver business results. I lead a team of 8 HR professionals who take the lead on several key HR initiatives that focus on building fundamental programs in: recruitment, succession planning, and labour relations. The team executes the implementation of programs: compensation, performance management, training and development, Associate engagement and policies and procedures.

As the Director of Human Resources, I am an integral member of the property Executive Committee. As a member of the Human Resources organization across North America, I contribute to a high level of human resource generalist knowledge and expertise for my property.I am accountable for talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management and development for property employees, using technology efficiently, and coaching/developing others to help influence and execute business objectives in the most efficient manner. I develop processes to accomplish objectives in alignment with broader business objectives. Additionally, I utilize a Human Resource Business Plan aligned with property and brand strategies to deliver HR services that enable business success.

As a member of the property Human Resources support staff, I worked with Human Resources employees to carry out the daily activities of the Human Resource Office including oversight of recruitment, total compensation, and training and development. Additionally, I focused on delivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of employees and enable business success; as well as ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and operating procedures.

As the HR Generalist, I worked with employees and department heads to provide timely repsonses to employee related issues pertaining to scheduling, employment, benefits, STD claims and worksafe claims, and other miscellaneous inquiries. I lead the Childrens Miracle Network committee on property - raising money for BC Children's Hospital. Oversaw the recruitment processes for all hourly positions. I reviewed resumes and conducted screening interviews before forwarding applicants to department heads. I administered the employee milestone program: sending out invitation letters, ordering milestone gift, generating letters and setting up celebration.
