Profile bio

About Jasmine Prater

I currently serve as the Senior GIS Coordinator for the City of Casselberry, Florida. In this position, I oversee day-to-day operations of GIS projects and data maintenance, as well as create maps and web apps for public and private use. I recently implemented a multi-server ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1 deployment and created numerous ArcGIS web apps, including a work order and asset management system used by the Water, Sewer, and Reclaimed Water utilities. I presented the app at the CFGIS Workshop, where it won the Popular Choice Award, and the Florida Section of the AWWA Conference. I work closely with multiple departments, including Public Works, Community Development, and the Casselberry Police Department, and serve on the Emergency Operations Center team. In addition to my GIS duties, I also create and maintain all addresses within Casselberry's jurisdiction. I communicate regularly with agencies including the Seminole County Property Appraiser, E-911, Sherriff's Office, Tax Collector, USPS, Duke Energy, and others.Prior to my time at Casselberry, I served as a GIS Technician on a contract for the Orlando Utilities Commission. I worked primarily with electrical distribution data, and occasionally assisted with water distribution. I was tasked with a Vegetation Maintenance project that identified primary circuits needing tree trimming and estimated costs based on accessibility. Through analysis of these circuits, I was able to reduce excess mileage created for visual representation to save OUC several thousand dollars. I also worked with a select group of analysts to perform data cleanup on the electrical distribution dataset in preparation for migration to the Esri ArcGIS Utility Network. In addition to the GIS work that I performed, I processed all incoming work orders, assigned jobs to other technicians and analysts, and served as a point of contact for tracking work that came through the GIS department. I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, having received my M.A. in Geography in September 2010. From January 2014 to January 2015, I took courses in database management and computer programming at Cincinnati State Community and Technical College, and continue to self-educate when possible. With the skills I gained from these courses, I hope to increase my capabilities with GIS software and development and to gain the ability to develop and maintain various core and third-party GIS applications.

Listed skills include Arcgis, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Esri, and 20 others.
