About Jasmine Temple

I am currently seeking a position as a PhD ScientistAt the forefront of placenta-based pregnancy disorder research, my tenure at UC San Diego's Parast lab has been marked by a deep dive into embryonic and trophectoderm stem cell development. The transition to a Graduate Student Researcher role has honed my proficiency in single cell sequencing, 3D culture techniques, stem cell culture, and differentiation. My skills include cell culture of mouse and human ESC, directed differentiation in from varying pluripotent states, 3D embryo models in mouse and human, mouse work (including maintenance, breeding, dissection, embryo culture, and cryosectioning tissues), and bulk and single-cell RNA-sequencing from library prep through all downstream analysis using R including Seurat packages. In addition to these skills, I am also well versed in other analysis techniques such as RT-qPCR, immunofluorescence in 2D cell culture and 3D structures, and tissue slides, FACS, and tissue preparation. As an intern at Replay Bio, I've expanded my research repertoire, applying my PhD expertise to gene therapies. This collaboration has not only reinforced my skills but has also provided a unique platform to test and innovate within the field and work as a team, in addition to gaining skills in virology and molecular biology.

Nyu Langone Health Feb 2016 - Aug 2019
    New York, New York
The Boeke lab focuses on the development of technology to probe systematic genetics and genomics. Dr. Boeke uses yeast, a model organism that has well-understood genetics that can stand in for much more complex organisms, to study the way genes are assembled, pathways interact, and chromosomes behave. I contributed to several projects while working at the Institute for Systems Genetics including: DARPA ELM engineered living materials initiative using yeast as a self-healing detector in living fungal housing bricks, GPCR yeast communication system between yeast species, and the human adenine pathway transplantation into yeast. Additionally, I led the Yeast Art Project, an initiative that creates pigmented yeast strains and uses the technology as a tool for artistic expression, education, science communication, and outreach.
