Developed a telemetry solution from scratch using the RP2040 board:- Wrote and debugged drivers for fetching data off ADCs and counter chips using ASM- Leveraged multicore programming, PIOASM and DMAs to collect data from various sources, including the builtin ADC, ADC1175, counter chips, and various analog voltage and UART peripherals.- Wrote drivers for asynchronous HTTP over TCP, NTP over UDP, lightweight queues, core pausing, Ethernet module drivers (Wiznet W5500), flash access, and processing of digital communications.- Implemented OTA flashing from scratch on the RP2040 chipset (to fit our specific needs)- Designed a user-friendly board firmware to configure the W5500-EVB-Pico board to communicate with our server- Built a multiprocessed and multithreaded service that processes incoming compressed data and sends it to InfluxDB, allows users to configure fields for the sensors in production, and flashes firmware updates to production boards over HTTP- Wrote 67 pages of comprehensive documentation on the codebaseDesigned mounts for sensors:- Modeled 3D printed holders for induction coils in OnShape- Modeled an induction sensor tester with nonferrous metal (used a drill press and 3d printing)- Designed a LiDAR mount (initially fully 3D printed, later made drawn schematics that were machined from aluminum blocks)Analyzed points of failure in electronic systems:- Analyzed points of failure due to EM interference- Utilized knowledge of analog circuitry to troubleshoot malfunctioning op-ampsUsed knowledge of optical physics to design LiDAR measuring systems:- Researched what materials of mirrors can be used to reflect LiDAR beams- Troubleshooted LiDAR interference from ambient lighting in test environments- Researched behavior of LiDAR when measuring hypersonic objects
