I established Idea Development in 2003 with the sole aim of providing learning and development solutions to clients in Japan that achieve meaningful business results. We focus on innovation, communication, working across cultures and leadership. Over the years, we've grown consistently and now proudly serve more than 130 clients a year. Within Japan, Idea Development is well known as a trusted source of cutting edge learning and development knowhow and learning transfer expertise. Since 2013 we've redesigned all of our solutions for flexible delivery and to maximize learning transfer leading to measurable on-the-job results.

Ian Townley and I created Practical Training Transfer to share our learning transfer knowhow and help the industry more successfully transfer learning into on the job performance and meaningful results.

Tokyo, Japan

Starting in college, I joined this corporate training startup as a trainer. Sales increased 600% in one year due to a huge project, I developed all the material, hired and managed a team of 40 trainers and delivered 20 days a month. From there we maintained momentum and my role developed from trainer to instructional designer to manager to director. As director I worked directly with clients to create original training solutions to meet their needs, oversaw curriculum development and managed the training staff.
