I completed my Master of Science degree in Physics at the University of Texas at Arlington in May of 2007. In my thesis work I was able to find criteria that determined whether or not a planet can maintain a stable orbit in a binary star system using a combination of a 4th order fixed step Runge-Kutta numerical integration algorithm and geometrical analysis. I started my doctoral work in spring 2008 by improving upon my previous work by implementing a 6th order symplectic algorithm which allowed for greater energy conservation per step size which allowed me to run longer simulations for more parameters. Later I investigated the interesting possibilities of a planet in the binary system of nu Octantis and Trojan planets around HD 23079. I completed my PhD in December 2010.In my spare time I have written programs that simulate various physical systems such as balls bouncing around inside of a box and a articulated drive shaft using constraint dynamics.
