A Specific project to reduce value of unallocated cash and items on suspense accounts.During my time there the total unallocated cash was reduced by £1.2 M and the Suspensevalues by £223KImplementation of automated chase letter sequence for all overseas customers, splitting thecustomers into different group hierarchies dependent on territory and language, the writing ofthe letter and arranging for translation and the testing on the in house finance system.Brought statement procedures back in house, designed new statements and tested andimplemented the facility to email statements directly to our customers

Full accountability for the running of the AR dept and the control of debts from an annual turnover of £74Million.Sole responsibility for training out the credit control function to all stores within the Blackwell’s Chain. This involved training people from scratch, to understand collection techniques and how to credit vet a potential customer.Implemented chase strategy for Accounts Receivables, which included 2 run off export ledgers totalling $2 Million and the main AR ledger totalling £4.5 Million.Kept overdue invoices as a percentage of total debtors less than 10%.Implemented new credit checking procedures, which were issued out to company.Have been a key player in the testing of 2 new Finance systems and putting together new working procedures, as a result of the changes.Heavily involved with bringing across a portfolio of customers, from our associate company in the states and worked with them to produce a procedure for the resolution of payments, which were paid across to the wrong legal entity.Put into place an automated chase letter procedure, via our in house finance system and an external company who processed the letters.

Reporting directly into the Credit Manager, responsible for the supervision of 3 credit controllers.Appraising and recruitment of new staff, the continued development and motivation of the team.Regular meetings with team to discuss problem accounts and come up with resolutions to queries preventing payment.Deputising for the Credit Manager in their absence.Credit vetting new accounts and imposing credit limits.Preparing accounts for litigation and dealing with collection agencies and solicitors.Production of new Cash Allocation proceduresDealing with escalation of queries from credit controllers and liaising with customers and sales teams to resolve the situation.Involved with the testing and implementation of a new finance systemProduction of monthly statements.
