About Jason Fredricks
I have a thoughtful process for problem solving and am very detail-oriented in all aspects of my life, which leads me to be confident in the accuracy and thoroughness of my work. I have held many technical roles in my 10+ years of experience and am excited to use these developed skills in my transition into a career in product management. I am a passionate person and a high-achiever, helping me to reach my goals of earning an athletic scholarship to play Division I collegiate hockey, get accepted into a coveted master’s program, and be hired for 2 internships and a full-time role in a highly-competitive time in the energy industry. I played competitive hockey for 18 years and was fortunate to reach the professional level, making me well adapted in leadership, collaboration, helping others, and a team-first mentality. I have the ability to lead and also work well within a team and in taking direction. I have worked on a large number and diverse range of teams through my athletic, academic, and professional experiences, and run my own summer hockey camp with over 350 skaters attending each year.I am 200-hour certified Yoga Teacher, and received my training from Pralaya Yoga in Houston, under Robert Boustany. Territory Manager - Sales Representative
Current
Endoscopy Sales Representative
Director And Program Manager
CurrentI have co-owned the Next Level Hockey Training Program with my father over the last 12-years. I am in charge of 7 other on-ice staff, as well as up to 52 skaters on the ice during each session. I program all of the on-ice sessions and develop the skill progressions that we use in our teaching model. I am responsible for hiring all of our on-ice staff and developing camp structures for new weeks we implement as the need of the consumer changes. We now run 6 full-week camps in the summer months, most of which include 30 hours of on-ice, skill training. We have added three fall clinics that run from Friday-Sunday, and also offer a coaching clinic to the coaches from the local youth organizations. The role requires effective communication to allow for skill development for a wide range of ages and abilities. I hire all new staff members and take pride in teaching them to be the best versions of themselves as a hockey educator. I firmly believe in leveraging the passion the students have for the sport and striving to become better to teach them life lessons that translate beyond the ice and help them in the real world. I am also responsible for designing and procuring the jerseys and merchandise, as I greatly enjoy researching and determining what new trends and styles will be most popular to students and their parents. One of my proudest accomplishments in this role is that we have generated over $530,000 for a local non-profit organization through our strategic partnership with the local, community-owned hockey association.
Geologist, Geophysicist, Project Manager
I worked in the Houston Region Exploration and Development for two years, tasked with identifying shallower prospects in the Anadarko Basin and evaluating new opportunities within the Austin Chalk. I performed data analysis and interpreted large geophysical, statistical, and rock datasets. I performed risk analysis to assess the viability and potential upside of new ideas. I monitored competitor activity and did frequent competitor analysis. Each project required vast research of the geologic background literature of each new basin I worked to build a framework for my future interpretations. The roles required integration in cross-functional teams where I had to frequently present my technical findings and communicate with other team members to solve business problems collaboratively.
Geologist , Geophysicist, Project Manager
I was tasked with determining how to deliver the best upside and return of a mature field that was part of a unitized lease in the Permian Basin. I identified the 2 highest-upside locations to add additional wells to maximize the profitability in a historic field.
Research Assistant
3D Seismic interpretation and attribute analysis of the deepwater extension of the Talara Basin, offshore Peru.
Geophysics Intern
I worked in the International/New Ventures group, where I identified a prospect in a mature field in the Gulf of Mexico. I presented my prospect to the CEO and executive board at a quarterly meeting while I was interning at Apache.
Geoscience Intern
I worked in exploration for the Gulf of Mexico Exploration - Miocene Team. I worked as a seismic interpreter doing an amplitude analysis of over 20 reservoirs from producing fields and discoveries, and also evaluated a prospect in the Auger mini-basin to determine if the company should continue to hold 2 lease blocks or relinquish them.
Teaching Assistant
For four terms, I taught two sections each term of an undergraduate geology lab, Introduction to Physical Geology. I was responsible for running the lecture, helping the students execute the lab, writing tests, grading, and running the field trips associated with the lab. The enrollment of the classes ranged from geology majors to students completing their physical science prerequisites - relatable and engaging communication was a key factor for successful communication while holding the position.
Hockey Coach/Strength And Conditioning Coach
I was the assistant coach of the USA Hockey National runner-up bantam-aged team, as well as the hockey skills coach, a hockey strength and conditioning coach, Junior Varsity head and Varsity assistant lacrosse coach, 9th-grade academic advisor, middle school physical education teacher, and a middle school boys dorm parent.
