At Infinitus, I've had the opportunity to work with a rich model suite of shallow and deeper learning models, and been involved in training data curation and domain-specific modeling. I primarily own the automation of IVR (interactive voice response) navigation for calls, ensuring our assistant can successfully reach a live agent. I contributed to an eye-tracking lab on a study comparing two different models of sentence parsing using the ambiguity advantage effect, the theory that fully ambiguous material is easier to interpret than unambiguous material.

As a legal intern, I wrote case summaries, researched legal precedent, reported on sentencing guidelines, and worked to find new clients. Most of my time in this position was spent researching and compiling information into easily-digestible reports. Research often included deciphering legal and academic papers and applying this knowledge to case-specific problems. I particularly enjoyed the act of learning how to learn in a new environment with unfamiliar tools.

As a Content Writing Intern, I searched out and created new content to add to the firm’s website. I gained experience writing polished articles to drive traffic to the website using SEO optimization and bulleted readability for mobile users. Content included summaries of specific laws or codes, the consequences of violations and strategies for those already charged with a crime. Research included identifying an underserved topic, gathering information from academic or governmental sources, and extensive fact-checking and revisions for accuracy.

Worked as Student Lead for a chain of coffee shops on campus. I managed roughly 60 part-time student employees and acted as a bridge between students and full-time management. I forged an individual relationship with each employee and checked in on their needs and issues frequently.
