• Developed an ETL system with SQL Server and Visual Studio, both of which I self-taught and with no assistance, to serve as a temporary stop-gap data repository for B.I. consumption.• Created, designed, validated, administrated, supported and upgraded tools to automate manual processes, including interfaces for users to operate them independently:1. A tool that automated a manual ETL process that matched internal data to multiple external data sets consisting of different formats (XLS, CVS, PDF). It extracted the data from the files and then combined, cleaned and uniformed the data using Excel, Access, SQL and VBA. This led to a cost reduction for data provided by an external developer consultant from $175,000 a year to $3,000.2. An inventory tool that identified the nearest reported inventory date from distributors relative to any static and specific date to create a month end inventory count. It also compared purchases and sales data by distributor, product and date to create appropriate reports used by executives. 3. A tool to create monthly sales trends and forecasting reports, using Oracle, Access, Excel and extensive VBA scripts, that were consumed by Sales and Marketing departments. Trained other resources on being my backup for the monthly process and managed them to create tools and enhancements to improve the process and resolve issues. 4. A tool that used ODBC connections to compare and provide data sets for manual data cleaning. This data was previously unavailable to our analysts due to infrastructure constraints, until I researched alternate options and investigated methods to access them.• Created and managed a Project Tracking system, in Sharepoint, that maintained an interactive list of the team’s Data Analyst’s projects and included requirements documentation of the projects.
