National Strike Force, Gulf Strike - Managed Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) specialized detection equipment inventory, response readiness, and personal protective equipment for 74 member Deployable Specialized Forces Team. Division Supervisor and National Strike Force Response Officer (RO) on-call 24/7 to lead all-hazard responses for oil spills, hazardous material releases, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) incidents and natural disasters in 13 states on behalf of 21 Coast Guard Sector and Marine Safety Unit offices, and 2 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regions. Collateral Duties: Personnel Investigations Officer (PIO), Unit Historian and Preservation Officer, Liaison with other government agencies, private sector, and international partners.

Pacific Area - Supervised daily operational picture of PACAREA (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, and Hawaii) MER cases spanning four Coast Guard Districts. MER Program Specialist — Technical Specialist, Subject Matter Expert (SME), and Liaison with international and regional planning meetings and exercises; drafted and reviewed Coast Guard MER policy and manuals. Collateral Duties: Operations Section Chief for the Pacific Area Incident Management Assist Team (IMAT), Incident Command System (ICS) Instructor, ESF-10 Agency Representative at FEMA’s Regional Response Coordination Center.

National Strike Force, Pacific Strike Team - Led and managed specialized response teams comprised of junior and senior members during 25 all-hazard incidents; Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Equipment Technician, Training Division Subject Matter Expert (SME) for 41-members. Collateral Duties: Certified Load Planner for C-5s, C-17s, and C-130s, Class A CDL driver, Leadership Diversity and Advisory Committee member, National Strike Force Area Specialist, Response Officer board member, Personal Protection Equipment manager.

Marine Safety Detachment Dutch Harbor - Led unit’s marine safety oil spill response and marine casualty investigations department. Directed resolution of 130 marine casualties and 160 pollution response cases. Supervised the development and training of four personnel. Commercial Fishing Vessel Examiner — conducted 300 dockside safety exams. Collateral Duties: Equipment and personnel liaison for visiting Coast Guard cutters and air crews. Unit’s procurement, morale, and training officer.

Sector San Francisco, Incident Management Division - Directed resolution of over 500 pollution response incidents and managed 25 federal cleanup operations. Lead Petty Officer — Supervised daily operations for six personnel. Led training and qualification efforts of 27 Pollution Responders and 12 Federal On-Scene Coordinator’s Representative’s.Collateral Duties: Responsible for Marine Information for Safety and Law Enforcement (MISLE) pollution response case review and civil penalty cases. Lead Training Officer, Qualification Verifying Official, and California (District 11) Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) trainer.

Sector Key West - Pollution Responder, Federal On-Scene Coordinator’s Representative, and Commercial Fishing Vessel Examiner - Directed resolution of 400 pollution incidents in the coastal zone. Conducted over 90 marine casualty investigations, 600 passenger vessel inspections, 1,200 cruise ship security inspections, and 100 commercial fishing vessel dockside exams throughout the Florida Keys.
